The Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWC) is in charge of Yala and all of Sri Lanka’s national parks. You should get in touch with them to get official permits and news.

Booking a safari: talk to us
The Department of Wildlife Conservation sets the rules and sells the tickets, but it does not arrange jeeps, drivers or pickups. That is where an operator comes in, and it is what we do.

Before you call anyone
Yala is busy, and a number of businesses near Tissamaharama present themselves as the park office. None of them are. The DWC head office above is the only official authority; the gate at Palatupana handles ticketing on the day and does not take advance bookings by phone. If a caller claims to be the park office and asks for payment, they are not.
