Shared jeeps are cheaper per seat. A private jeep is worth it if you care about dwell time at a sighting, photography, or travelling with children. You tell the driver when to wait.
How the from-price works
From-prices on this site assume six guests in one private jeep. Two or three people still get the whole vehicle; the per-person rate rises because park vehicle fees do not shrink. The booking form shows the jeep total before the $30 deposit.
From-prices below are per person in a private jeep of 6. Park entrance, jeep, taxes, and water are in the quote. $30 deposit online; balance on arrival. Long-distance pickup is extra.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a shared safari?
No. Exclusive Yala Safari runs private jeeps only. Your booking is for your party, up to six guests.
How much does a private jeep cost?
From-prices on this site are per person when six people share one private jeep. Smaller groups pay a higher per-person rate because the jeep and park vehicle fee are fixed. The booking form quotes the total before you pay the $30 deposit.
Is a private jeep worth it versus sharing?
Yes if you want to skip the radio-network race and stay at a leopard or elephant without six other bookings voting to move on. Solo budget travellers can still book a private jeep; the quote simply costs more per person.
