Sri Lankan leopard

Yala Leopard Safari

How to stack the odds: dry-season mornings, Block 1, a private jeep, and a driver who waits instead of chasing the radio.

  • Not guaranteed
  • Best at dawn
  • Block 1 for density
  • Private jeep

Nobody can guarantee a leopard. Dry-season mornings in Block 1 are the window drivers prefer. Wet months, midday heat, and radio-chasing into a jeep jam all work against a clean view. We wait when we can; we do not sell a guaranteed cat.

From-prices below are per person in a private jeep of 6. Park entrance, jeep, taxes, and water are in the quote. $30 deposit online; balance on arrival. Long-distance pickup is extra.

Frequently asked questions

Are leopard sightings guaranteed?

No. Yala is a wild park. We maximise time in leopard habitat; we do not sell a guaranteed cat.

Morning or afternoon for leopards?

Morning (6:00–10:30) is the better window. Afternoon still produces sightings as the day cools, especially near water.

Best months?

February to July, when water concentrates animals. Block 1 typically closes 1 September–15 October for recovery — confirm dates when you book.
